Gros Point Border - assembled.

Excellent condition. Assembled from other examples, engrelure and lower border added.

This border is pieced together from at least two other works. The work in the larger piece is exceptional,note the highly sculpted cordonnets. The rest is a little different in design and technique. Such assemblies were common in the later part of the 1800's, with manufacturers like Mrs. Treadwin boasting about their ability to take older laces and remake them into modern fashion. Thus it is rare to find complete surviving examples of Gros Point.
